August 2025 wurde der neue Satellit der ESA und EUMETSAT, Metop-SGA, erfolgreich gestartet. Dieser Satellit blickt stets nach unten (zur Erde) und nicht nach oben (zu den Sternen).  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sein Zweck ist es, Wissenschaftlern die notwendigen Daten zu liefern, damit Wettervorhersagemodelle genauer werden. Viele Forscher der University of Southampton in England (von dort fuhr auch die Titanic los!) halfen beim Bau.
