Sie befinden sich etwa 100 km westlich von Marokko. Historisch gesehen wurden sie von Plinius nach den wilden Hunden (cannes) benannt, die dort lebten, und es scheint, dass sie schon von den alten Griechen bewohnt wurden.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"450\" height=\"408\" src=\"https:\/\/www.uni-mag.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/telescopes-01.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7003\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.uni-mag.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/telescopes-01.jpg 450w, https:\/\/www.uni-mag.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/telescopes-01-300x272.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.uni-mag.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/telescopes-01-221x200.jpg 221w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Lage der Kanarischen Inseln auf der Karte<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ihre g\u00fcnstige geografische Lage in Verbindung mit dem trockenen Klima reichte aus, um Wissenschaftler und insbesondere Astronomen anzuziehen. In dieser und in den n\u00e4chsten Ausgaben werden wir Ihnen einige davon vorstellen!<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/www.uni-mag.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/telescopes-02.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7005\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.uni-mag.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/telescopes-02.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.uni-mag.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/telescopes-02-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.uni-mag.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/telescopes-02-768x432.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Die Teleskope von den Gipfeln La Palmas aus gesehen<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>NOT &#8211; Nordisches optisches Teleskop<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Das Projekt zum Bau eines nordeurop\u00e4ischen Teleskops wurde erstmals 1980 von den Professoren Bengt Str\u00f6mgren und Anders Reiz vorgeschlagen, die von der Carlsberg-Stiftung Mittel f\u00fcr eine Machbarkeitsstudie f\u00fcr ein 2,5-Meter-Teleskop erhielten. Die Finanzierung der anf\u00e4nglichen Aktivit\u00e4ten des Projekts, wie Standort und Design, wurde vom schwedischen und d\u00e4nischen Rat f\u00fcr Forschung in den Naturwissenschaften initiiert. So wurde im Januar 1984 die Northern European Optical Telescope Science Association (NOTSA) mit finanzieller Unterst\u00fctzung von vier Europ\u00e4ischen R\u00e4ten (D\u00e4nemark, Finnland, Norwegen und Schweden) gegr\u00fcndet.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Der Bau begann in Las Palmas auf den Kanarischen Inseln. Nach einigen technischen und finanziellen Schwierigkeiten wurde das Teleskop 1989 offiziell in Betrieb genommen, und 1990 begannen die regelm\u00e4\u00dfigen Beobachtungen. Hugo Schwarz machte es sich zur Aufgabe, das Teleskop in den folgenden Jahren noch besser auszustatten, da es eine hervorragende Position einnahm und der Wissenschaft viele Beobachtungen bot. So wurde sie mit einer Reihe moderner optischer und infraroter Instrumente ausgestattet. Es ist das gr\u00f6\u00dfte optische Teleskop der Welt mit einer einzigartigen \u00d6ffnung.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Der Bau des Teleskops dauerte sieben Jahre und kostete 130 Millionen Euro. Die Installation war aufgrund der Wetterbedingungen und des Transports der Ausr\u00fcstung an einen so abgelegenen Ort schwierig.
