I&#8217;m going to fall. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Mr. A:<\/strong> Stop spinning already.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Little Girl A:<\/strong> How do I do that, Mr. A?<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Mr A. <\/strong> : Don&#8217;t move your hands and legs<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Little Girl A: <\/strong>But believe me, I&#8217;m not doing anything. I&#8217;m just spinning around and around. I don&#8217;t know how to stop.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Daphne: <\/strong>Little Girl A is right. The Earth is spinning around and we&#8217;re spinning with it. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Little Girl A: <\/strong>They said it in a documentary on TV. Jean Bernard L\u00e9on Foucault was a French physicist. Foucault&#8217;s pendulum is a pendulum capable of free oscillation. The characteristics of this oscillation demonstrate that the Earth rotates around its axis. This experiment was first presented in 1851 at the Paris Observatory.    <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Mom<\/strong>: And what about Umberto Eco&#8217;s book?<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Dad<\/strong>: That&#8217;s different. It&#8217;s a book that talks about the Knights Templar, or the Templars (for more details). <a href=\"https:\/\/el.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/%CE%9D%CE%B1%CE%B9%CF%84%CE%B5%CF%82_%CE%99%CF%80%CF%80%CE%BF%CF%84%CE%B5%CF%82\"> https:\/\/el.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/\u039d\u03b1\u03b9\u03c4\u03b5\u03c2_\u0399\u03c0\u03c0\u03bf\u03c4\u03b5\u03c2<\/a>). <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Daphne<\/strong>: Both of the things you&#8217;re talking about are incredibly interesting.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Little Girl A:<\/strong> It would be wonderful to see the pendulum in Paris and have a chocolate crepe.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Captain GG:<\/strong> Off we gooo!<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Dad<\/strong>: But how? May i ask?<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Mom<\/strong>: I know! When are we eating crepes au chocolat!<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Little Girl A:<\/strong> Oh, not again! Why is the pendulum so long?<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Mom<\/strong>: Isn&#8217;t the ball at the end of the string very heavy?<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Mr. A:<\/strong> Your questions are very good. To answer, I sat down and read. When the string is very long and the weight is heavy, the oscillations are slow.
