THE HARVEST MOON: WHEN LIGHT REAPS THE NIGHT<\/h2>\n\n
<\/div>\n\n

On the night of October 7th, 2025, the sky will welcome the Harvest Moon \u2014 not just another full moon, but the first Supermoon of the year. Usually appearing in late September, this year\u2019s Harvest Moon arrives a little late, making its glow all the more anticipated.<\/p>\n\n

The Harvest Moon is the full moon that occurs closest to the autumn equinox. Traditionally, farmers used its bright light to extend their harvest well into the night. That soft, golden glow was more than practical \u2014 it was almost magical, a natural reminder that autumn brings both abundance and farewells.<\/p>\n\n

This year, the Moon will reach its perigee, the closest point to Earth in its orbit. This makes it appear up to 7% larger and slightly brighter than usual. Observers will also notice the well-known \u201clunar illusion\u201d \u2014 an optical trick that makes the Moon seem enormous when it hangs low above the horizon, brushing the rooftops and treetops. <\/p>\n\n

And if you miss its peak at dawn on October 7th, don\u2019t worry. The Harvest Moon will remain nearly full for three nights, giving you plenty of time to enjoy its glow \u2014 perhaps with a warm drink and the comforting thought that nature still keeps its rhythm. <\/p>\n\n

A Supermoon to remind us that even as daylight fades, the light always returns.<\/p>\n\n
