Aunque esto no es literal, su verdadero prop\u00f3sito es desarrollar una fuente de energ\u00eda m\u00e1s limpia y sostenible. \u00bfC\u00f3mo se lograr\u00e1?  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La organizaci\u00f3n busca utilizar tecnolog\u00eda de fusi\u00f3n nuclear para generar electricidad con un impacto ambiental m\u00ednimo, a trav\u00e9s de un dispositivo llamado <strong>tokamak<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"900\" height=\"785\" src=\"https:\/\/www.uni-mag.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/2tokamak.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11537\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.uni-mag.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/2tokamak.png 900w, https:\/\/www.uni-mag.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/2tokamak-300x262.png 300w, https:\/\/www.uni-mag.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/2tokamak-768x670.png 768w, https:\/\/www.uni-mag.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/2tokamak-229x200.png 229w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Un tokamak es una m\u00e1quina que utiliza potentes campos magn\u00e9ticos para confinar plasma caliente en forma de rosquilla (toroidal). La idea de usar fusi\u00f3n nuclear para generar energ\u00eda fue propuesta por primera vez en los a\u00f1os 50 por el f\u00edsico sovi\u00e9tico Oleg Lavrentiev. En 1951, Andrei Sakharov e Igor Tamm desarrollaron a\u00fan m\u00e1s el concepto, proponiendo que el plasma pudiera adoptar una forma toroidal y ser contenido mediante campos magn\u00e9ticos.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Desde entonces, la tecnolog\u00eda de los tokamaks ha avanzado considerablemente. Estados Unidos lider\u00f3 inicialmente el desarrollo, pero en la d\u00e9cada de 1970 otros pa\u00edses tambi\u00e9n se unieron. La necesidad de un reactor de fusi\u00f3n pr\u00e1ctico \u2014capaz de alcanzar temperaturas de ignici\u00f3n o de usar imanes superconductores\u2014 llev\u00f3 a una \u00fanica conclusi\u00f3n: la colaboraci\u00f3n era esencial.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As\u00ed, los pa\u00edses miembros del ITER \u2014China, la Uni\u00f3n Europea (a trav\u00e9s de Euratom), India, Jap\u00f3n, Corea del Sur, Rusia y Estados Unidos\u2014 acordaron compartir los costos y la construcci\u00f3n de uno de los proyectos energ\u00e9ticos m\u00e1s grandes del mundo.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Esta colaboraci\u00f3n tom\u00f3 forma en los a\u00f1os 80, con la creaci\u00f3n de ITER, una red internacional para construir el tokamak m\u00e1s grande del planeta. La ubicaci\u00f3n deb\u00eda cumplir criterios f\u00edsicos y t\u00e9cnicos: acceso a agua y electricidad, estabilidad geol\u00f3gica y s\u00edsmica, y cercan\u00eda a centros de investigaci\u00f3n o industriales. Se eligi\u00f3 el centro de investigaci\u00f3n CEA Cadarache, en el sur de Francia, como sede del proyecto.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El objetivo de ITER es producir 500 megavatios (MW) de energ\u00eda de fusi\u00f3n, \u00a1suficiente para hervir 3,3 millones de huevos al mismo tiempo! ITER es un reactor <strong>de fusi\u00f3n experimental<\/strong> dise\u00f1ado para demostrar que la fusi\u00f3n nuclear puede ser una fuente de energ\u00eda limpia y sostenible. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sus principales objetivos:<\/p>\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Fusi\u00f3n autosostenida<\/strong>: Lograr un \u201cplasma en combusti\u00f3n\u201d, en el que el calor provenga principalmente de la propia reacci\u00f3n de fusi\u00f3n.<br\/><br\/><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Producci\u00f3n a gran escala:<\/strong> Generar 500 MW de salida con solo 50 MW de entrada: una ganancia energ\u00e9tica diez veces mayor (Q=10).<br\/><br\/><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Prueba de tecnolog\u00edas:<\/strong> Ensayos en condiciones reales para controlar el plasma, calentamiento, diagn\u00f3stico y mantenimiento.<br\/><br\/><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Producci\u00f3n de tritio:<\/strong> Pruebas para generar combustible de tritio a partir de litio dentro del reactor.<br\/><br\/><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Seguridad<\/strong>: Demostrar que la fusi\u00f3n es controlable y segura, sin riesgo para las personas ni para el medio ambiente.<br\/><br\/><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Los trabajos ya han comenzado, involucrando a investigadores, estudiantes y becarios. \u00a1La operaci\u00f3n <strong>cient\u00edfica<\/strong> completa est\u00e1 prevista para el a\u00f1o <strong>2034<\/strong>!<\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"555\" src=\"https:\/\/www.uni-mag.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/3tokamak-1024x555.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11541\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.uni-mag.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/3tokamak-1024x555.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.uni-mag.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/3tokamak-300x163.png 300w, https:\/\/www.uni-mag.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/3tokamak-768x416.png 768w, https:\/\/www.uni-mag.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/3tokamak.png 1520w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p class=\"card-text\">ITER es un proyecto internacional de investigaci\u00f3n que intenta replicar el proceso energ\u00e9tico de las estrellas mediante un reactor tokamak en el sur de Francia.
