Este sat\u00e9lite siempre mira hacia abajo (a la Tierra) y no hacia arriba (a las estrellas).  <\/p>\n\n<p>Su prop\u00f3sito es proporcionar a los cient\u00edficos los datos necesarios para que los modelos de predicci\u00f3n meteorol\u00f3gica sean m\u00e1s precisos. Muchos investigadores de la Universidad de Southampton en Inglaterra (\u00a1el mismo lugar de donde parti\u00f3 el Titanic!) ayudaron en su construcci\u00f3n.
