B\u00e1sicamente, son estrellas muertas. Se llaman &#8220;p\u00falsares&#8221;. Son estrellas de neutrones que giran a gran velocidad. Por lo general, emiten dos haces de luz en direcciones opuestas. Las estrellas brillan porque queman su hidr\u00f3geno. \u00bfNo crees que en alg\u00fan momento se les acabar\u00e1 el hidr\u00f3geno?   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">98 Ianthi: Est\u00e1 bien, est\u00e1 bien, lo entiendo. \u00bfY qu\u00e9 pasa cuando se les acaba el hidr\u00f3geno? \u00bfYa no brillan m\u00e1s?   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Adrianos: Brillan de otra manera. La siguiente imagen muestra la vida de las estrellas con diferentes masas. Est\u00e1 en ingl\u00e9s. En una galaxia lejana ocurri\u00f3 una explosi\u00f3n de supernova. La estrella brill\u00f3 tanto que se volvi\u00f3 m\u00e1s luminosa que toda la galaxia que la contiene.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>431 Nefeli: <\/strong>Despu\u00e9s de la explosi\u00f3n, el remanente puede ser un agujero negro (black hole) o una estrella de neutrones (neutron star). <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Adrianos<\/strong>: Chicas, son incre\u00edbles. \u00bfC\u00f3mo saben todo esto?<br\/> 98 Ianthi: \u00a1Y a\u00fan m\u00e1s!   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>431 Nefeli<\/strong>: Las estrellas de neutrones se convierten en p\u00falsares. Vuelvo a mirar ahora el diagrama con la estrella de neutrones y los dos haces de luz. Por lo general, se colocan en costas escarpadas y rocosas. Pero es muy reconocida, chicas, no se preocupen. Siempre pregunten sobre lo que no saben. Busquen las respuestas por s\u00ed mismas tambi\u00e9n.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>431 Nefeli<\/strong>: Estamos todo o\u00eddos. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>98 Ianthi:<\/strong> \u00bfUna estrella de neutrones solo tiene neutrones? \u00bfC\u00f3mo sucede eso? Pero si la materia est\u00e1 hecha de \u00e1tomos&#8230; <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>431 Nefeli:<\/strong> Un \u00e1tomo tiene un n\u00facleo con neutrones y protones. Hasta donde s\u00e9, solo se han observado estrellas de neutrones. La teor\u00eda que actualmente es generalmente aceptada no predice la existencia de estrellas ex\u00f3ticas de electrones y protones.<br\/><br\/>   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Solo en condiciones especiales, los protones de un \u00e1tomo interact\u00faan con los electrones del mismo \u00e1tomo y se forma un neutr\u00f3n y un neutrino. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>431 Nefeli:<\/strong> As\u00ed es como sucede, y una estrella est\u00e1 compuesta solo de neutrones. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>98 Ianthi: <\/strong>Y la distancia entre el n\u00facleo y los electrones en los \u00e1tomos se vuelve muy peque\u00f1a.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Adrianos<\/strong>: \u00a1Exactamente! Por eso las estrellas de neutrones son tan peque\u00f1as. Es decir, muestra c\u00f3mo evoluciona con el tiempo la intensidad de la luz de un pulso, de izquierda a derecha.<br\/><br\/>  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>98 Ianthi:<\/strong> \u00a1Ooooh, y los cinco pulsos son diferentes!<br\/><br\/> <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>431 Nefeli:<\/strong> \u00a1El primero es cuadrado! \u00bfSon los cinco de p\u00falsares?<br\/><br\/>  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Adrianos<\/strong>: No, hasta donde s\u00e9, no son de p\u00falsares. Pero ahora intenten comprender, chicas. Si dibujan cada uno de los cinco pulsos en cinco cartas de juego y contin\u00faan dibujando pulsos en cada carta.
