El telescopio fue lanzado el 25 de diciembre de 2021 desde la Guayana Francesa. Fue una misi\u00f3n muy esperada y compleja debido al tama\u00f1o y la sensibilidad del telescopio. Despu\u00e9s del lanzamiento, el telescopio despleg\u00f3 su paraguas solar para funcionar correctamente. Aproximadamente un mes despu\u00e9s alcanz\u00f3 el segundo punto de Lagrange (L2). En esta \u00f3rbita, a unos 1,5 millones de kil\u00f3metros de distancia, puede mantener una posici\u00f3n fija con respecto a la Tierra mientras observa el universo.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Su dise\u00f1o comenz\u00f3 en 1996 como un &#8220;telescopio de nueva generaci\u00f3n&#8221;, mientras que los planes para su lanzamiento exist\u00edan desde 2007, con un presupuesto de mil millones de d\u00f3lares. James Webb fue el segundo administrador designado de la NASA. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">JWST tiene un espejo primario compuesto por 18 secciones separadas o &#8220;paneles&#8221; que se combinan para crear el disco \u00f3ptico general del espejo. Esta disposici\u00f3n permite que JWST tenga un espejo grande con un di\u00e1metro de aproximadamente 6,5 metros. Este espejo permite recoger y enfocar la luz para las observaciones espaciales del JWST.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El enfoque principal de JWST est\u00e1 en el infrarrojo (0,6\u201328,3 mm), ya que puede ver a trav\u00e9s de nubes de polvo y gas, lo que brinda im\u00e1genes m\u00e1s claras de los objetos y una mejor resoluci\u00f3n de los objetos distantes. Esto permite el estudio de las primeras galaxias, la formaci\u00f3n de estrellas y la detecci\u00f3n de exoplanetas lejanos.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<p
