Este resultado fue descrito por primera vez por la sufragista y defensora de la abolici\u00f3n Matilda Joslyn Gage (1826\u201398) en su ensayo &#8220;La mujer como inventora&#8221; (publicado por primera vez como panfleto en 1870 y en el North American Review en 1883).<br\/><br\/>El t\u00e9rmino &#8220;efecto Matilda (Fen\u00f3meno Matilda)&#8221; fue acu\u00f1ado en 1993 por la historiadora de la ciencia Margaret Rossiter. <em>(de la p\u00e1gina en la Wikipedia en griego).<\/em><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Existen varios ejemplos de mujeres cuyos aportes a la ciencia no fueron reconocidos. En Astronom\u00eda, un ejemplo caracter\u00edstico es el de Jocelyn Bell Burnell. Jocelyn Bell Burnell descubri\u00f3 los p\u00falsares en 1967.
